Nancy Andretti
President & Director

Nancy Andretti is John’s wife of 32 years, as well as the Founder and President of the CheckIt4Andretti Charitable Foundation, Inc. Additionally, she serves as a member of the CheckIt4Andretti Board of Directors. Nancy has spent the better part of her life supporting John in his career and charitable endeavors, as well as raising their three wonderful children. She is an active co-owner of Andretti Motorsports, a volunteer in her community, and has served on the Cannon School PAC Board as well as the Championship Auto Racing Auxiliary Board of Directors. Nancy enjoys spending time with her three adult children and their dog Enzo (whom John named after Enzo Ferrari). She is an avid gardener, and baker.

Nancy was John’s biggest advocate and caregiver during his fight with colon cancer and she is passionate about being an agent of change in the fight against this horrible, yet preventable, disease. She is determined to continue John’s mission of saving lives by utilizing the resources of the foundation named in his honor.

J.F. Thormann
Chairman of the Board

J.F. Thormann is President of Andretti Autosport , and has worked alongside Michael Andretti for over three decades.  Thornmann oversees the managerial, strategic and business administration for all Andretti Autosport entities and affiliated businesses. He also leads the company’s driver recruitment and team development programs.

Prior to joining forces with Michael Andretti, Thormann, a graduate of Towson University, owned and operated highly successful retail sites for Shell, Texaco, Amoco and Sunoco.  He was also the Managing Director for International Retail Corporation located in Baltimore Maryland.  Thormann currently lives in Noblesville Indiana with his wife, where they raised 4 children.

David Tilton
Vice Chairman of the Board

David Tilton started his Military career with the United States Navy in 1983. After a tour on the USS Saipan, LHA-2 as a Intelligence photographer, David was chosen to be a photographic and film and video instructor at the U.S. Navy Photography School in Pensacola Fla. In 1990 he graduated with honors from the U. S. Navy Diving school and in 1994 with honors from the Navy Diving Supervisors school. As a Navy Deep Sea Diver, he was the Chief in Charge of the Navy’s Underwater Photography and Combat Camera Team and supported many “Special Projects” for deployment of Ocean Sensors for Anti-Submarine Warfare. In 1995 David was transferred to SEAL Team 8 where he supported operations and conducted training for Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures, around the world. In 1997 he transferred to Naval Special Warfare Development Group (SEAL TEAM 6) where he implemented the Tactical Surveillance Element Division. As Chief in Charge of the Tactical Surveillance Element, the team supported over 2 dozen successful operations against terrorist acts during “Operation Enduring Freedom”. He was also a member of the Personal Security Detail for President Hamid Karzai. In 2003, Chief David Tilton retired from the Navy with honors, after sustaining a broken neck and back during the war in 2002, and began his private career.

In 2006 David founded Brimtek Inc., located in Ashburn, VA, providing consulting and state of the art surveillance and intelligence gathering equipment to DoD Special Forces, Intelligence Community and various other federal, state, and local agencies across the US.
In 2015 David began his support of Andretti Autosport.

In 2017, David became an Indy car chassis owner with the team which captured a thrilling victory in the 101st Indianapolis 500 with driver Takuma Sato. In 2018 David teamed up with Jarett and John Andretti, with Jarett at the wheel of David’s VW TCR race car. Over two years the team grew and in 2020, after Johns passing, Jarett won the GT4 Sprint Championship.

David is now the Vice Chairman of the Board for CheckitforAndretti.

Jarett Andretti
Director

Jarett Andretti is a graduate of North Carolina State University who now lives in Indianapolis and races full-time. He is the son of John Andretti, grandson of the late Aldo Andretti and the great-nephew of Mario Andretti. Andretti is the Co-Founder and President of Andretti Motorsports.

He has carried on the family racing tradition and has wins in go-karts, the USAC Eastern Ignite Pavement Midget Series, the 410 Sprint Car division at the Lawrenceburg Speedway and is also an Indiana Sprint Car Series winner. In addition, Andretti is the 2014 USAC National Sprint Car Rookie of The Year and a former Rookie of The Year at the Oswego Speedway in the supermodified class. In 2018, Andretti competed part-time as a rookie in the TCR class. Andretti continued his career racing full time in the Pirelli GT4 America Sprint & Sprint X series, culminating in a Sprint X Silver Class Championship win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in October 2020.

Jarett made the switch to the IMSA Prototype Challenge in early 2021, racing in a Ligier JS P 320 for Andretti Autosport’s LMP3 team. After a mid-season change, Andretti is currently competing in the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in the Andretti Autosport No. 36 LMP3 Ligier JS P320.

He continues his family’s philanthropic legacy with his involvement in the Race 4 Riley annual fundraising campaign benefitting Riley Children’s Hospital and the CheckIt4Andretti Foundation, started in honor of his Father, John.

Jeff Stoops
Director

Jeff Stoops has spent more than four decades of running and growing some of the nation’s leading transportation enterprises including topping Inc. Magazine’s inaugural list of the fastest-growing privately held companies in 1981 with Stoops Express, Inc. as the first ever number 1.

A born entrepreneur, Jeff has a keen insight into customer’ needs while building successful businesses and expanding a company’s brand through relationships. After selling Stoops Express, Jeff started over as a Freightliner truck dealer in Indianapolis and expanded to 7 locations and 700 employees in Ohio and Indiana.

Today Jeff is President of Frank R Jenkins Custom Homes in Ft Myers, Fl., Stoops Automotive Group in Muncie, IN, Stoops Buick GMC in Plainfield, IN, Anderson Country Club in Anderson, IN and is Chairman of the board of the United States Auto Club, better known as USAC.

Edison Hamann
Director

Mr. Hamann has been involved in the management and ownership of entertainment facilities for the past 30 years, having partnered with Mr. Manousos in ownership and operation of SpeedPark in Daytona Beach. Mr. Hamann developed a close relationship with the late John Andretti, leading to the creation of the opportunity to partner with the Andretti family as the brand name of the Andretti Indoor Karting & Games facilities. Mr. Hamann is involved in all aspects of managing the day to day operations of the business and works closely with the partners and management staff to achieve positive results. He is also the owner of the Andretti Thrill Park in Melbourne, FL. Built in 1999, this outdoor location was the first family entertainment center opened with the Andretti family name.

Stylianos (Stan) Manousos
Director

Mr. Manousos has over 35 years of business operations experience. He received his MBA in Finance from New York University and joined his family’s travel business, helping to grow revenue from $5 million to $75 million. Mr. Manousos then co-founded, developed and successfully sold Park, Ride, Fly. His industry experience includes owning and operating Daytona Lagoon (water park) and SpeedPark (kart track located across from the Daytona International Speedway). Mr. Manousos met Mr. Hamann through the SpeedPark venture, leading to the collective acquisition of Andretti Indoor Karting and Games in 2009. With his significant real estate development experience, Mr. Manousos spearheads the expansion efforts and location strategies of Andretti Indoor Karting & Games and is actively involved in the financial operations.

Olivia Andretti, MD
Director

Olivia Andretti is the daughter of John and Nancy Andretti and a pediatric resident physician. She graduated with distinction from UNC – Chapel Hill in 2016 with a degree in Chemistry. She then attended the George Washington University School of Medicine where she received her medical doctorate and was inducted as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. She is passionate about colon cancer awareness after losing her father, John, at the young age of 56 and is committed to providing screening to more patients through the CheckIt4Andretti Foundation.

Amelia Andretti
Director

Amelia Andretti is the youngest child of John and Nancy Andretti. She is a Nursing student at the University of Tampa and is also pursuing a Marine Biology Minor. Amelia is passionate about volunteerism and hopes to help serve underprivileged communities locally as well as globally in her career. She has taken volunteer trips to Africa and Costa Rica and is an active member and volunteer of Saint Marks Catholic Church. Amelia is an Army ROTC cadet and will serve in the Nurse Corps as a Second Lieutenant upon graduation. She is also an active member of Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity which focuses on academia and philanthropy. Amelia is passionate about Colon Cancer awareness and making colonoscopies widely accepted as part of a regular, common health screening.

Marcella S. Schwalbe, MD

Marcella S. Schwalbe, MD 
Director

Dr. Schwalbe is a retired pediatrician in Concord, NC. She attended graduate school at the University of Florida Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology where she did research on insulin-stimulated glucose transport. She graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine.

After her retirement from clinical pediatrics, Dr. Schwalbe has remained actively involved in her community, serving on numerous non-profit organization boards. She taught medical consumer advocacy courses as well as Anatomy and Physiology to pre-professional students at her college alma mater, Queens University Charlotte. Currently, she counsels clients on nutrition and lifestyle changes to improve chronic health conditions.

Dr. Schwalbe is a member of the Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is an ardent proponent of preventive health care and medical screening to circumvent disease.  She feels privileged to be part of CheckIt4Andretti’s mission to make preventive colonoscopy screening available to the underinsured.

Carolyn Andretti Molander
Secretary, Treasurer, & General Counsel

Carolyn Andretti Molander is John’s sister and serves as the Secretary and Treasurer of the CheckIt4Andretti Charitable Foundation, Inc. She is a seasoned attorney with expertise in the areas of general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate financing and leasing, commercial lending transactions, areas of special regulation, and insurance law. Prior to her law career, Carolyn worked in the banking industry as an Assistant Vice President responsible for commercial lending, bankruptcy and other work-out credits, business development, updating loan documentation policy, and developing and managing a commercial lending training program. Carolyn also volunteers her time and has served on the following boards: The Orchard School (Treasurer); Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series; American Cancer Society; and Championship Auto Racing Auxiliary. She is an active member of St. Luke Catholic Church. Carolyn is inspired daily by her husband and their two daughters. In her free time, Carolyn likes to knit and do almost anything so long as it is with her family.
